Hi all,

i was wondering... How do i modify the 1501d amp to run stable at 1 ohm???
If anyone knows...
Also I did run it at 1ohm for 5-6minutes and it was ok. It gave about 30-40% more output then at 2 ohm.

How do I modify?

It's already 1 ohm stable.

In the manual, and at their site it says it's only 2 ohm.

I don't get it?
Why would they sell the amp as 2 ohm when it's 1ohm stable?

That amp IS NOT 1ohm stable. It is a 2ohm stable monoblock. You could possibly run it at 1 ohm with a cooling fan.

Thanks man!

Is there a way to get them modified and run them permanently at 1 ohm?

There is not way to wire an amp different than how they come. You change the load by the way your subs are wired to the amp.

Can someone post a link to that amp? I could have sworn that it is 1 ohm stable, that is kind of stupid for MTX to make a 2 ohm stable mono amp. I thought the whole point in a mono is they are 1 ohm stable. lol

I wanna run them at 1 ohm because of dbdrag. I wanna ge 2x2 ohm woofers, and run them at 4 for normal listening.

For drag I wanna get them down to 1.

but maybe get 2x4 ohm and run them all the way with full power, without risk.

What do you think?

Taylor the new 2005 line mtx amps are one ohm stable. Nemanja go to mtx.com and look the new one if you want that 1 ohm load.

Heres the key to getting that amp loud, i know a few competitors are gonna get mad for me letting this one out but...
Look at the side if the amp for a little hole, about the size of a pencil tip. That is where you need to stick a pin into in order turn off the compressor/limitor. The amp will put out more power but its sq will go down at high volumes.
As far as burping them at 1 ohm?, you can go lower than that without any mods, but also be sure to push in that little switch :-)
