Your subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils so if you want to bridge your 2 channel amplifier to your two subs then wire them parallel, meaning the + to + and - to - ( Do this to both subwoofers), Then run a wire from one positive and one negative on each sub and bring the two positives together and the two negatives together and hook both positives to the far positive connection on your amp and connect both negatives to the other negative on your amp,

This will create a 4 ohm load on your amp.

Although if it's a two channel and you have two subs it's usually pointless to bridge them because if you use one channel per subwoofer its going to be the same as if both subs were bridged. example) 800 watts x 1 bridged power of your amplifie (4 ohms) is the same power as 400 watts x 2 at 2 ohms.

Bridging a 2 channel amplifier when using two subwoofers will supply the same amount of power to each subwoofer. It will simply be divided from the 2 channels wattage , then supplied to your two subwoofers. To bridge an amplifier, if it is a 2 channel, you would take a positive and a negative from each channal and wire them together making 2 positive wires become one positive wire and 2 negatives wires become one negative wire (twisted together); then connecting the positive to the far left (channel 1) of your amplifier, and the negative to the far right's negative terminal (channel 2). You need to make sure that the impedance is going to be stable once bridged too. Usually a dvc 4 ohm subwoofer pair can be wired series/parallel to establish a final impedance of 4 ohms bridged.

If it has dual 4 ohm voice coils you can wire it in parallel. Otherwise, no.

Hi, my name is Roger Stupidface. I have 4 Kicker solo x 18's and a sony 250watt amplifier. I think the amplifier is like 10 channels or something like that. How do I bridge it. Also, the guy at Best Buy said this is all I need, but every time I turn the car on, the amp blows up. Literally. This is my fourth replacement from them and I am getting suspicious. Any advice.

All right, I have four Kicker Solo X 18's and the guy at Best Buy said a 250 watt 10 channel sony explode amp would do, but every time I turn it on the amp literally explodes. Is it supposed to do that(hence the name)? This is my fifth replacement amp and I am getting suspicious. Any Advice?

Hello everyone, I'm a bit new to car audio and have a question. Is it a good idea to use a 4-channel amp to power two 5x7's and 2 12" infinity subs? Can it be done and still have decent results? Or should i just get 2 2-channel amps for each pair of speakers?

how do you bridge a 4 channel amp to run 2 subs?

Answer to GZ. Just run the positive terminal from one channel of the amp and opposite channel's negitive terminal to one sub. Run the 2 remaining terminals (the positive of one channel and the negitive and the other) to the other sub. That is how you bridge, but then how you acutally connect to the sub depends on how you want to wire (series or parallel). If they are DVC subs (dual-voice coil: two pairs of positve and negitive terminals on an individual sub), then it's best to run in parallel to get the post power. To do this, individually hook each bridged channel separtly to one pair of the +/- terminals on the sub, then from that run more wires to the other +/- terminals on that sub. Do this separatly on each sub.

Answer to jeitnier. Yes can power all four speakers (the 5x7's and the subs) using each individual channel on the 4 channel amp because evn though they are different types of speakers, they are all 4 OHM. But the power in wattage you will get out of it (espically with the subs) soley sepends on what type of amp you're working with. More importantly the power in watts of the amp. Post the model amp you have and the RMS it puts out in each channel and I could answer you better.

I am trying to figure out how to hook up 4 speakers and a sub. If i buy a radio that has 200w, and then an amp with 300 or 400 watts, could i hook up my tweeters to the radio, then hook up 2 6x9s and a sub to the amp? If so, how? ive been looking for an amp but they usually just have two channels. Should i hook the 6x9s to the one channel and then the sub to the other channel? And what is the difference between the wattage an the RMS Wattage?

I have a 4 channel amp and a single DVC sub(4ohm each VC), I'd like to know how to bridge a channel pair so that I culd connect a bridged channel pair on each of the voice coils. Would the pairing of two channels result in a Left+Right output if the to be paired channels are Left and Right from the RCA? Correct me if I'm wrong, but my idea is to have a pure Left and pure Right output for each bridged channel pair thus I have to connect pure Left or pure Right on 2 respective RCA channels that is to be bridged, then a bridged channel for each Voice Coil. I'd like to know if thats the best possible way to get the best output. My amp runs 450watts/channel and my sub at 500watts for each Voice Coil. Currently Im just using 2 channels(Left and Right) 1 for each Voice Coil. Although I have a good background on electronics, I'm just a beginner with Car Audio. Thank you for any advice you could give me.-ian

This message is for the idiot that claimes he has 4 Solo X 18's. First of all you would need at least 2 fuckln escalades to even fit them into based on the sizes of the box. And if you asked best buy for advice your an idiot. Best Buy doesn't know a damn thing when it comes to car stereos. They dont sell an amp more than 250 RMS. 4 Solo X 18's would take 5000 dollars worth of amps to run full power. I own ony my self and i can barely hear anything with just one amp

I have a bridged 4ohm type r 15" to a xplod 1200 watt amp.

I was planning on buying another type r 15"(4omh) and i already bought the amp. Its a Boss CH700. I went to there website and it said 1200w bridged at 4 ohms.

40hm 500 watts rms 15" + 4ohm 750 watts rms 15" = 1250 watts 2ohm when bridged in paralel.

The wattage matches up with the amp but the ohms dont therefore i dought it will work. Could i wire it in series? Or does 2 4ohm subs even turn into a 2ohm load when bridged(because that it what i have heard).

I have a Sony Xplod 4-Channel 500 Watt Amplifer, XM-504Z, two rocksford fosgate punch 10" subs and a 10" pyle sub. I was wondering how to hook this all up to get the most power out of the subs. Can anybody help me with this?
