no the subs voice coils do not change the load that the amp puts out changes

the impedance of the sub itself is a fixed value.
the impedance varies with the frequency the sub is producing, but the nominal load or average doesn't alter.
now, if you bridge the amplifier, the amp will see half of the actual load because you'll be using both the 12 volt positive and 12 volt negative power supply rails together to push and pull the sub, increasing the power into a 4 ohm load.
this means when the amp is bridged, it's only stable to twice it's load compared to running in stereo.

glasswolf i was told to come talk to you.lol.ok i just got six 12in subs.they are rockford fosgate rfp4412.they are 200 wats rms and 400 peak with a 4ohm connection and the frequency responce is 28-200hz the sensitivity is 87.5db ok now the problem is i have know idea what i just told you LOL i just read it off the box.but i do know i have a 1994 chevy astro and i had a box built to the speakers spesifacations so we are left with my question.ok keep in mind i want to get every bit of power out of these subs that they have.do you know of any amp/amps that would push these subs if not what should i look for when buying the amp/amps.and my second question is do i need a second battery, bigger alternator or a capassider if you can help i would be verry THANKFULL if not THANKS for reading and thinking anyways LOL

They are ok sub's. Rockford makes ok stuff.
I am guessing that the subs are 4 ohm svc so they will be wired to 1 ohm?
If so you have a few choices on amp's
Overall just find an amp that put's out 800 watt's rms at 4 ohm's After you hook the subs up each should get 200 watts rms!

Sorry just realised you said that you have 6 sub's not 4!
So that changes everything.
It will be hard to get just 1 amp to match that power with 6 ohms.

3 would work nice! Just make sure each amp put's out 400 watt's at 2 ohms, so that way each sub is getting the amount of power it need's.
That will be a lot of money in amp's:-)

you've got 6 subs. 200 watts, 4 ohms each.
you'll want 1200 watts RMS total.
with the subs wired in series/parallel the JBL bp1200.1 would be an ideal amplifier for you.
one amp that'll deliver what you want.
it runs about $200-300 on eBay or on-line retailers.
you'll also need a 4 gauge amp wiring kit for this amplifier.
larger wire if you plan to run another amp on the same cable.

so 1 amp will push all six subs to their max power?? and how do you wire in series/parallel? and will this put out a lot of bass..
THANKS FOR INFO
PS sorry about these crazy off the wall questions but i know nothing about this stuff just want a hard hitting system and dont want to blow my subs up LOL

yes lots of bass.
www.bcae1.com has a section on wiring multiple speakers. I think it's called advanced speaker wiring calculator or something.
you want the resulting load to be between 1 and 2 ohms.

the amp is stable down to 1 ohm, and puts out 1200 watts RMS at 1 to 2 ohms.

here is the exact page you need:
http://www.bcae1.com/srsparll.htm
http://www.bcae1.com/spkrmlti.htm

if these two pages are too complicated, you may just want to go with using 3 separate amplifiers with a distribution block.
Then just run one pair of subs on each mono amp for a 2 ohm load per amp.
