Hi,

I have a computer with an S/PDIF output jack on the
back and wish to hook it up to a standard tube tv
with dual mono audio jacks.

My question pertains to which cables i should use
or whether it is possible. I don't have the money
right now to buy a home theater reciever and would
like to know whether i could just buy a standard
coaxial cable that splits one end in to two to
make this work.

Thanks!

That output is designed to work in conjunction with a unit that can decode the digital signals. You cannot use regular RCA patch cables to connect them to your TV.

You need the analog output from your PC to connect to a regular TV.

So in other words I need to buy a mini plug splitter
cable. Thank you for your reply, I am new to the
audio concepts of home theater setups and appreciate
it very much.
