I have a satellite receiver Technosat 5500 with scart connection and a single video connection.
From the decoder software I can choose whether the scart connection is RGB or it is CVBS.
I would like to connect my decoder into the component input of the samsung LCD TV.
what shall I do?
Thks,

This adapter is bi-directional but will only work with a scart that supports component video. RGB and component are not the same and this adapter will not allow connection of an RGB signal to component.

This web site says that
"These adapters may be used with an RGB scart switch to turn it into a component video switch."

from where I can get those switches.

Thks I appreciate your help.

Jean,
The key here is that your Technosat 5500's scart output must support component video. If it does, it will be somewhere in the unit's setup menu, I would guess.

I understand what you mean, but it seems that technosat 5500 does not support component, it supports only RGB and composite.

I have tried a scart to component video connector from the local market but no image.
I have tried also scart to s-video and it gave me a white and black picture.

what do you suggest.
I really appreciate your comments.

Ya know Jean, there are worse things in life than watching TV via scart-->CVBS. Otherwise, you are going to need some expensive conversion. And even with that you are not guaranteed a significant improvement in picture quality.

I've heard that there is a cable that could do scart RGB to HDMI or DVI.

is that true?

You're talking about a simple cable converting a signal from analog to digital? No.
