I was trying to create my own cable to connect my MP3 player to my receiver. The 1/8" connector has thee connection points (1 center, 2 side) where I can solder and each RCA plug has two (1 center and 1 side). Does anyone know which points to connect?

Thanks for the link. I have a number of those cables. I am trying to make my own and so am interested in finding out how to wire the connectors.

The center pin on the RCA is your signal.
For the 1/8" jack, the tip and ring are L&R signal. The sleeve is your ground.
Use a continuity tester to determine which solder point is tip and ring.
