
Viewsonic's VT2430 Combines HDTV, Monitor

The company's latest display pulls double duty as both a massive 24-inch monitor and a TV with impressive 1080p resolution.
When space (or money) is at a premium, deciding between a large-screen computer monitor and a television can be an issue. Viewsonic reached out to cash-strapped college kids and other one-room dwellers on Monday with the release of its VT2340, a 24-inch computer monitor and television in one package.
The company reworked a fairly standard 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor by adding inputs and tuners, allowing it to deliver the same functionality as a full 1080p television, as well. The set has a ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner for pulling down over-the-air HD signals, as well as an HDMI 1.3 input for connecting devices like Blu-ray and DVD players.
