
Netflix Hit By Outage

Computer Problems leave the company unable to send out new orders or confirm returns.
When your business depends on sending out new orders, a computer problem stopping you from doing that is disastrous. But that’s what’s happened to DVD rental company Netflix.
The company first reported the problem on Tuesday, according to Vnunet, letting customers know that due to a computer problem it was unable to ship discs or acknowledge returns in the usual manner.
By Wednesday the company had some of its distribution centers up and running, but much of the system remained down, and as of yesterday about half its centers were still not working. Netflix is offering customers credit as compensation.
In a blog post yesterday, Netflix head of operations Andy Rendrich wrote:
