Hi. I am asking for your help because I din't know where else I could get it.
I am using an Alienware M17x R2 laptop with an onboard INTEL 5 Series High Definition Audio Controller, which is connected via coaxial to a Marantz SR 7500 Surround Receiver, and a pair of Bang und Olufsen Speakers plus a Magnat subwoofer. I was using this system connected to a macbook pro notebook via optical connection and the sound was not only crisper but also louder than on my current Alienware with that intel onboard HD sound card.
Should I get an external sound card? Is it likely to improve the sound quality and loudness? I was thinking at a https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-System-SB1240/dp/B004275EO4
Is this Intel onboard audio card that bad that the sound could be so much different than on a macbook pro?
I thank in advance for your help.
