Hey guys,

I just got into this home entertainment system stuff about 3 months ago. im only 18 years old so my money is limited. So tell me what do you think!

I have a yamaha 5.1 600 watt reciever

Bose Center channel, front speakers, and surround speakers.

and a 12 inch sony subwoofer.

I also have monster subwoofer cables, Monster speaker wire, Monster digital coaxil cord, and a monster power bar. the 2 front Bose speakers were $330 for the set. The surround speakers in back were $210 for the set. The subwoofer was $220, the wire was $60, cables n all that amount up to $200. I only got the reciever because i purchased a yamaha home entertainment in a package. i replaced everything but the reciever.

Im new to this. Heres what I'm planning to do!....

Im thinking of updating my receiver to a 7.1 channel 840 watt yamaha receiver .
And adding on 2 more BOSE speakers and 1 more subwoofer.

But I'm debating whether or not i should get a 7.1 receiver, or just adding on a subwoofer and calling it a day.

Im only thinking of replacing my receiver because Im not sure how all of this works, and i don't want to blow out my receiver.

What would you guys suggest? And how do you like my setup?

Sorry for the rant, but i love this system. LOL

Your last sentence says it all!!! You have a very nice system and you love it, what could be better than that? If you think you need more kick I would suggest putting the existing sub in several different locations to see (or rather hear) what happens prior to purchasing another one. I also would think that you need not worry about a 7.1 system quite yet.

hey man,

I just added a 12'' JBL Subwoofer and replaced the surround speakers with Bose Bookshelf Loudspeaker 201. It sounds sick, especially at high volumes.

Ill have pictures soon.

And yes i make, buy, sell, hair, paint, cast etc. all of those masks.
