I want to connect my pc to my tv. My tv is quite old but my computer isn't, I have a Radeon HD 4870 graphics card with two dvi plugins. My tv doesn't have any HDMI plugins (so i can't use a dvi - hdmi cable) but has a component plugin. My video card came with a dvi to vga adapter.

So I was wondering if I could plugin my vga cable into my graphics card using the dvi - vga adapter then use a vga - component adapter so I can plug it into my tv.

Any help would be great.

You can't connect your TV's component input directly to the VGA port of your computer. Assuming your TV is standard definition, you will need a modulator to do that. Something like this

However, a standard def TV is not capable of graphics resolutions anywhere near your computer monitor. In my experience, the computer display on an old TV is very disappointing.
