hello

i have a 1991 mitsubishi chariot with a stock standard HU and speaker setup. the problem im having is when the air is damp (its rained, is raining, or is really humid) i can not play any music (radio or cd's) the HU will turn on like normal but will not play music, pushing the buttons still makes the sound like normal.

the HU as best as i can tell is a Fujitsu Ten Limited with a model number of CDT-1200 (i am unable to find it online anywhere so i could be wrong on the model number)

anyone have any ideas of what could be going on?
whats the best way to sove the issue? im thinking of buying a new HU but dont want to spend the money if its not going to fix the problem.

cheers

If it turns on ok always then the issue is most likely inside the head unit. A good brand name entry level HU can be had for $80 or so new. If after many tests you determined that in fact humidity causes the problem you could do little to prevent it from happening anyways.

^He could remove it, open it up, and air it out with a blow dryer set to warm.
