Hi, so I was planning a home theater and had planned on spending maybe 1.4-1.6k on speakers. here is the system I have planned thus far.

Axiom m22 left and right.
Axiom VP150 center channel.
Axiom qs8 surrounds.
and Bic acoustics pl-200 woofer. it outperforms the axiom woofer badly.

It all fits just within my budget but I honestly have no way of demoing it. I was thinking I could buy it in pieces, but if I buy it all at once i save 5%.. problems :P

I just wanted to know what speakers you guys reccomend in comparison?

A few notes about my listening. I have a 2200 square foot theatre room. a 46 inch tv.

I do not want speakers that are so loud that they always severly disrupt family who might be sleeping 50 feet away from the speakers, granted through several walls but i guess that is all in volume.

I primarily watch anime on my theatre. Japanese anime has an emphasis on rock and techno with classical as a tertiary but important element. I enjoy classical a lot.

Quality of voice is very important to me. I really like to listen to lyrics of songs. Aladins "A whole new world" is an example of one of my most favorite songs ever.

BIC acoustics has a nice looking complete set for about 1k I was eyeing, but the rear channels look a bit weak and honestly thats a much lower price point than the axioms.

To be honest I am making a big price leap up here from my old speakers to these. My current set is a failing set of bluesky media 2.1's.. They are having grounding issues, something broke inside of the amplifier that is built inside the woofer. -sigh-

So suggestions are always welcome and thanks in advance..

Jon welcome to the forum ,,
you should check out some of my last posts for speaker recomendations.
Some people if you read the reviews weren't too happy with axiom.
Then again you should here them first yourself.

I'm not sure where to start,,
there is paradigm,,
boston acoustics
energy even polk audio tsi200
which are in your price range but do match all speakers, please.,except sub.
I recently installed the larger polk audios tsi400 and I was impressed so the smaller tsi200 which are of smiliar size to the axiom.

Okay, audio is confusing me these days.

Someone reccomended that I buy a denon 589 receiver which I did. It seems to have all the inputs and outs I need.

The polks seem like they are pretty well priced, the center channel seems weak for a center though to be honest are better than my bluesky 2.1's.

I do like the rated frequency response range of the polks. I have heard that paradigns do not honor their warranty unfortunately.

I'll go check out your other threads. I dunno why though but I am somewhat obsessed with this center channel. I think I had just gone nuts, not sure.

Why the obsession with the center channel?
not sure what you mean polk center seems weak.

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-TSi400-Floorstanding-Speaker/dp/B0018QNYMG

If you can afford go with a larger front speaker

and don't obsess with specs
obsess with your ears!

That denons you have is fine

The paradigm warranty I've never heard of them being like that
they warrantied my sub no problem and speakers never hardly break down.

Hello John,I just read about your requirments.your requirments are mainly two:1.the home theater should not bother the sleeping of your family while there are good music.2.the home theater should be better for listening classical music and lyrics of song.I think the flat speaker is the best choice to meet your requirments.because the sound quality of the flat speaker is surrounding the room, you will listen same volume at any pot of the room.when you are near to the flat speaker, the volume is not large and when you are far from it the volume is not small.so it will not bother the sleeping of your familiy.because the sound quality is eaqual in the room,so the flat speaker will be better for you listening the classical music and lyrics of songs. the three oil paintings hanged on the wall above the flat TV you see on the pictures are the flat panel home theater.
