Because somebody is that stupid. When you start the bidding extremely high you're implying value, not proving it.

Item's worth= $10. You start the bidding at $40. Buyers offer $20 and it sells. They think they've got one over on you and you double your money in the mean time.

Obviously this gent was wishing for lightening to strike and someone to offer $500 for folded paper. Stranger things have happened.

My cousin says that his buddy makes like $60 grand a year buying and selling sh!t on eBay. He buys off local people that don't know what their sh!t is worth. He buys it for really cheap and he makes bank selling it. Like Pawn Stars, offer a guy a fraction of what he wants to sell it for and sell it for four times what he payed for it.

But I don't know what this guy is smoking. A real V12 engine costs way less than that.

Thinking about it just wants to make me watch that mini Ferarri video over and over.

Okay that's pretty cool with the Ferrari replica. But what a monumental waste of time. The guy can't even drive the thing. Just look at it...

I admire the interest, attention to detail and patience to complete such a project/hobby.

I agree with Jexx though.

HOWEVER..................someone out there may be willing to pay mega $$ for it......just to say they have it.
