I have had a problem posting of late. After I had registered on the forum, my name and password were automatically loaded when I enterd the forum. Now the name and password are missing and need to be entered manually before the forum will accept a post. Can this problem be rectified?

Try to clear your cookies, and clear any saved passwords?

Which web browser are you using?

Yes, I know. Yahoo DSL has their own browser. (http://dsl.sbc.yahoo.com/) Their intial set up is through InterNet Explorer, but no one I know with Yahoo DSL uses I.E. The two browsers do not resemble one another at all.

I've cleared the cookies and Temp Internet files and the username/password problem persists.

OK, I've cleared the saved passwords and signed into the the forum. For some reason the username signs on each thread as "JAN+B+VIGNE" and I get an error message when I try to post which says my username/password are too close to a registered member.

The Username you should be using is "Jan_b_vigne" (with the underscores).

If you leave the password blank, the forum attempts to post as an "unregistered user", which is likely the cause of the error you are seeing.

Once you login correctly, a temporary cookie is set on your computer to keep you logged in.

The username seems to work fine. Thanks.

However, for the past few months since I registered, I have not had to log on when coming into the forum. I now must log in every time to be recognized by the forum for posting. Am I still missing something? Is there an automatic recognition of my computer that is now missing?

Check your profile.

Make sure there is a check in the box: "Remember my username and password in a cookie"

Hey, does anyone know how I can re-type my full name and e-mail address? I typed wrong during registration. My real name is Matt. I typed Mike by mistake. Any suggestions?

I went to the edit profile page and found the save username and password checked. I cleared and rechecked the boxes (twice) and hit save changes. I'm still not being recognized when I enter the forum. Any suggestions?

Probably is. But I don't know what that implies to the actual operation of the two browsers when trying to resolve a problem such as this.

I've cleared all cookies and temp files (under both IE and Yahoo) once again and the problem with remebering my identity still persists.

OK. Seems to be working after I went to the profile and unchecked/checked/saved profile changes once again. We'll see what happens.
