I have an LG RC388 machine, which is a DVD and VHS recorder and you can also copy from one format to the other.

I want to record TV programmes onto DVD using this machine, but I don't know how to wire up between the devices.

I have an HDMI lead between my Freesat box (BFSAT01HD) and the television. The freesat box also has two scart sockets; one is labelled VCR, the other is labelled TV.

The TV is a TECHWOOD CL 82762 and has two scart sockets just labelled 1 and 2.

The DVD recorder has two scart sockets labelled AV2/DECODER (coloured blue) and AV1 (coloured grey).

The manual that came with the DVD recorder is, I'm afraid, useless. It does not even mention the scart sockets and no scart sockets are shown on the diagrams.

I really need some help, please.

Unfortunately, the manual that shows the SCART connectors is in French!

The SCARTS are inputs to the LG; that much I can tell.

I can't tell the difference between AV2/Decoder and AV1, so you will have to do some experimenting.

So, I suspect that you need to connect SCART out on your satellite bus to one of the SCART inputs on the LG.

Are you able to watch DVD movies when you play them on the LG?

I can watch DVD's on the LG.

OK, I'll try what you say, thanks.

And I will get back.
