I thoroughly reviewed the cable splitter discussion thread and would like an expert to please verify this setup so I know it will resolve my cable modem frequent signal loss problem.

I have 1 HDTV, 1 regular TV's and 1 cable modem.

Existing:
1. Cable company box to ground block in side of house.
2. My own cable splitter, 1 in, 3 outs. 1 out is 3.5db, 2 outs 7db
3. HDTV wall outlet in 3.5db , other TV and modem wall outlets in 7db.

Please verify this new setup - I will be adding another regular TV and fixing my cable modem signal:
1. Cable company line into ground block on side of house.

2. Connect cable co provided splitter to ground block. 1 in, 2 out, both 3.5db outs.

3. 1 out of 3.5db goes to wall outlet of modem.

4. Other out goes into "in" of an Econoline EDA 2100 single out amp. (Exists in grey box but never used, power is connected and on. I plan to use it now)

5. Connect my 1 to 3 splitter into "out" of this amp.

6. Connect 3.5db into HDTV wall outlet.

7. Connect other 2 outs (7db) into regular TV wall outlets.

Will this setup work or should I route the modem line thru after the amp as well?

If this helps anyone.... I tried several different variations.... and here is what worked best:

1. From ground block to 3 way splitter.

2. 2 of the 7db of splitter goes to regular TV's. Great reception - max 480p per TV.

3. 3.5db out of splitter into amp which gives gain of 15db.

4. Out from amp into HDTV wall outlet.

5. Split from wall outlet using 2 way splitter with both outs 3.5DB.... remember, we have gain from amp...so overall we are still better than straight line.

6. One out goes to HDTV box - great reception.

7. Other out goes into modem - excellent speeds and levels.
