I have an Onkyo HT-R500 receiver that shuts off right after I turn it on. I have unplugged everything, and it still does it. I suspect that it is in protect mode. How do I get it out of protect mode? Do I have to have it serviced?

Also, I am trying to figure out what happened. I have been moving my equipment into a new entertainment center using Dayton Audio banana clips in the receiver and Dayton Audio speaker pins in the back of the speakers. Now, I have been moving the speakers around and I noticed that the pins on one of the surround speakers were very close and maybe even touching. Could this have caused the problem? If so, what is the best way I can keep these pins from touching each other?

Thank you.
