I think I would recommend a NetFlix account instead!

Pretty soon you will have to switch to HD video discs.

Amadeus Director's Cut....Gorgeous for the eye and ear. "Making of" extra excellent.

This is Spinal Tap............funniest movie ever. An hour's worth of outtakes almost as good as the movie.

Das Boot Directors Cut........best sub movie ever.

Godfather I and II.......best gangster movies ever.

The Bridge on the River Kwai......best movie ever.

Hard to believe these guys ad-libbed most of the dialog, and they actually play the instruments.

BTW, I re-viewed Office Space last night. I had forgotten how funny it is.

"My wife was dissapointed that you didn't have "Moonstruck" as one of your favourites. You may want to check it out."

This is a very good "organic" romantic comedy that combines an interesting story with a good cast. Personally I love to hate Cher, but she, along with "stone face" Nick Cage are believeable in this one. Credit director Norman Jewison (and and the script) for this cinematic delight.

This spoof on the early nineties "hood" movies is a bit uneven, but when it's funny it's hilarious. Does anybody know how many Wayans brothers there are?

It's a sin not to have saving private ryan, band of brothers, world war 2 films of all sorts from documentary to action films like longest day, dirty dozen kelly's heroes including hogan's heroes etc. No freddie or jason? no e?
To have a true movie collection, you have to have war movies period! no blazing saddles or history of the world part 1, mel brookes? no monty python meaning of life? no incredible mr. limpett? don knotts. willy wonka and the chocolate factory? stir crazy?
all i can say is different strokes for different folks. I got over 100 dvd's myself.
airplane series, kentucky fried movie, killer tomatoes, rocky horror picture.
final countdown. E.T. edward scissorhands, sleepy hollow, what dreams may come, sergeant bilko, vacation, the lost raider, romancing the stone. full metal jacket, platoon, blackhawk down. sniper 1,2,3. all the star trek including generations.

Heres teh real question, are those burnt or store bought? If those are burnt, then, thats not a collection. I dont care about the whole "stolen" issue, however, anyone can buy a couple 100 packs of dvd+r's and find good torrent site. It takes time, but, tahts it. A real collection involves money.

The Hurricane with Denzel Washington. Freakin sweet movie. My Favorite Tv shows are-Arrested Development and JOEY. The only thing that sucks is they only made on season of joey. IDk Y its really funny. IF you liked Friends then ud like this.

Friends was good, but Joey on his own really stunk. The same old schtick...the dummy routine gets old.

That would take up way too much bandwidth, but here is a link to the page here in the bargaining section, some of the some of the pictures need updating, but it should give you a slight idea.

Very nice collection. I am planning on building a cusom shelving unit because adding a movie is a chore when I have to pull almost every box and slide 1 over.

LOL, What is that supposed to mean, do you realize that there is around 4.5 million film titles in the world! Now how rich do you suppose you have to be to buy all that then, do the math!

Believe it if you what, still 1 million DVD tiles, I doubt there that many in the film category on DVD at this point in time, still if you had that many in your home, you'll have barely enough room to swing a cat!

Cuylar would need about three of those 400 disc machines for all those movies. And besides he would still need to have access to all the DVD outer covers.

So Cuylar, any thoughts on 360 vs. PS3? Have you played any HD movies on either yet?

The sony dvd changers store not only movie title and info but also either a jacket picture from the dvd or your own pic taken directly from movie. All on easy interface simular to movie server. Plus you can daisy chain up to three!!

I have seen dvr models for that but the method I have works for now. $10k on a DVD player sounds a bit harsh.

I wouldn't recommend the Sony one. I purchased one and $650 later and two repairs at $175, it is in the dumpster somewhere.

This unit did not have an internet connection (I don't know if there is one now), so you had to input all this information of all of the DVD's manually. Then if one of them got misplaced, which did happen, then their order on the menu would all get out of whack.

I think there is models from Panasonic and Pioneer that store a lot of these. I don't know if they are any better, just don't buy the Sony.

Not really...I have 700 movies, just spent the weekend in the city at a world class jazz festival, have a job and a life in general. Contrary to popular belief chewing gum and walking are not mutually exclusive activities.
