i read a post that some1 couldnt get radio stations with thier inverter on...this is because either the power wires run too close to the radio itself, the antenna wire, or the speaker wires. also if your getting a buzz or whine through the speakers, usually when u increase the engine rpm...again its power wires going to your amps, or other heavy guage wires pulling a lot of current, are running too close to the radio/speaker wire/antenna wire/or basically anything related to the stereo.

also often caused by a bad ground point.

the reason you probably charge so much less is reflected in threads like your commentary on capacitors.
