I'm looking for a new TV, probably 47"+, for my new apartment. Any suggestions? Price range isn't a huge issue, but around 1800 would be preferable.

Also, my mom is looking for a new laptop and doesn't want a Mac. It doesn't need to be anything too fancy, just something reliable and fast. No price range.

Any suggestions would be great, guys. Thanks in advance.

Damn, Reece. Where do you get that kind of scratch? Shouldn't you be living in a sh!tty dorm surviving off of ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches? I thought you were a college student!!

P.S.

I have a LOT more that will kill me before my time besides my diet. Some wet noodles is but a speck on my timetable of life.

Reece, another option, and what I would do (and have, on 7-8 installs) with that kind of money is get a projector and screen... assuming that you will have a main room that is 18 x 16ish, and also assuming that you can get it fairly dark in that room.

This combo right here would get you more pussy than an Iraqi pimp, not saying that you need help... Just incredible 1080P performance, amazing. I installed this exact system for a friend of a friend and he, after watching my demo BluRays, actually cried a little bit. So of course, I did too But for real, if you really want to impress the crowd, this rig with a decent BluRay player will blow people away.

The screen is acoustically transparent, which means you can place your speakers behind it so they are not only out of view, but also placed so that sounds literally come from the screen.

Ehren, I am a college student, but life's good.

Brad, thanks for the links. I think I found that same TV on Amazon for 1150, so I'll probably go with that. I was really wanting the LED-LCD TV so I think I'll be happy with the purchase.
