Hello,

My girlfriend made a home made dvd while she was in Australia, using australian dvd's, now obviously because the region code is different we cant watch them here in the UK,

Does anyone know how to unlock the dvd so we can watch it?

thanks

What is a "homemade DVD"? Recordings aren't region coded.

a homemade dvd, as in something recorded using a video camera, which is recorded onto a TDK dvd bought in Australia

Then it's not region coded. Only retail DVDs are region coded. DVD media is the same no matter where it's purchased.

Was the disc finalized? Burned DVDs need to be finalized to play in players.

ummm im not too sure, basically the girlfriend made the dvd and bought them back with her, when we tried to play it back on the computer it says there is nothing on them, but then if you go into the properties of the disk it says that 60% of the available space has been used up.

does this sound like they have not been finalized? and is it possible to do that now?

It sounds like it wasn't finalized. I've never used a camcorder but there has to be a way to finalize the disc. It will probably have to be done on whatever was used to make the recording.
