Hi there
I had the cw-600s installed by a friend for me about 6 monthe ago. It was up for 2 days, then I took it down. Now I want to set it up again but by friend is awol.
I did a factory reset.
I have tried auto scan, manual search and other searches but I cannot get a single channel to come in.
In particular, I am trying to get a single channel to come in and it is on G25/G3/L5 or the Ku side of the Telstar 5 satellite - KU_Telstar5(97degrees) west.
Can you tell me how I can do this?
Thanks

I reset the receiver and unpluged it.
The echostar super dish is still on the roof.
I do not know what kind of LNB is on that dish.
Also, I have a 10' dish that I used to get T5 on. I took the Ku feed connected to the cw600 did a scan and still no channels.

If you get Echostar, your LNB is Linear, for get Globecast 97W you must have a 33" dish and a linear LNB.

There is always a different view on things...

You say if he has echostar then he has linear lnb.. I only know of echostar 9 that uses linear lnb and would not assume he would be aimed at that sat, i would assume he would be aimed at 61.5 , 110 , 119,129 all circular lnb.

then again I don't have the knowledge that comes with 10,000+ posts

Can you guys tell me exactly what you are saying?
Are you saying that the dish I have cannot pickup the T5 satellite at all?
Are you saying I have to aim the dish in a different direction?
I am willing to do anything I have to do to get this satellite.
By the way, when I scan the Ku_Telstar5 satellite I get a strength reading of about 30 with 0 quality on some transponders and a strength of about 65 with a quality of about 30 on others, but no channels

That sounds like a plan. Except, I can get the digital channels on W5, G3 and the Sheperd Network on G4-16. So I am thinking that since I can get these satellites and channels then the dish's alignment is ok.
Is my thinking true here?
Thanks

Is my thinking true here? YES

You need an Analog Pass-Through
DTV Converter Box

I am using the DSR922 4DTV receiver, isn't this receiver suppose to handle all things digital?
Just to be on the safe side look at this radio shack item - http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3706352
Is this what you are talking about?

Look with a 10 foot dish a DSR922 4DTV receiver and a Combo Ku/C-band LNB.
You should have no trouble to receive all channels on these Birds.

It looks to me that your friend set you up
with two systems one for C-band and
one for Ku

now you want to use your C-band
to also pickup Ku.

Possible cause, your 10 foot dish has a C-band LNB.

Tony All:
Telestar 5 (Intelsat Americs 5) till 2007 changed its name to Galaxy 25. It was at 97 degrees West till late 2008, when it was replaced by Galaxy 19, which is the Sat at 97W now, and it is a mixed C/Ku band dish.
Galaxy 25 moved to 93W, and is now a strictly KU band Dish.

I trust you will be able to rephrase your question and needs based on this current situation of Sats, their names and their broadcasts.

Nalin, the cw600s has telestar5 listed at 97w- maybe you should contact cw and tell them to update their software

I trust you will refrain from your pompousness.

Chumley aka justforhaha's aka LK:
Don't talk BS to me.
Somebody may have Nimiq 2 listed at 81W, but it is Nimiq 4 now.
They have all got to upgrade their knowledge.
If you do not want to positively accept change then go and take a dive in your Largo Key.

Idiot: Can't you see that there has been a transmision problem on the internet and the last two bits of 01000010
got inverted in transmision and
now they have changed to 01000001.

Gosh! I tried to teach you two years ago what inversion of bits can do and you just had to philibuster with your profanity.
