I have 2 of Comast 3 services HI speed and phone service. When the Tech installed the cable back in 2004 in my house I was getting a local cable service, but it was not stong enough for the high speed internet. So the installing tech did a regual install, But I ask him about my local TV channles. What the TECH did was he didn't put a Filter to keep out the TV channels. Now I have gotten a LCD TV Samsung 750. And It can get some DTV channles. My question is do I need a cable box becasue the cable go directly into the TV, it clear scrambled channel, and there are some HDTV channles. After the switch over the HDTV Fed 19 will I need a cable box.

No. The DTV switch is over-the-air channels and doesn't affect cable channels.

I think yo'll only get the digital channels not the analog

I got Time warner at work
They already started to drop out some channels like Cartoon Network, Nick and Disney, Animal Planet
I got Cablevision at home
Cablevision so far did not drop any analog channels yet

But I also heard on the news yesterday
Feb 19th maybe extended to June 12th
Cuz there is not enough fed money to subsidize all viewers purchasing digital boxes
