Hi there my mother-in-law needs some of her old camcorder footage taking from the camcorder tapes on to DvD.
I am pretty technical but having problems with this so far.

Is there anyway i can take the footage from the camcorder tapes & put them onto DvD discs.

I have tried upto now....

Using a VCR/DvD Combo using A/V leads with no result
However i did manage to copy from VCR to DvD but thats not what she needs.

I do have a Hauppauge PVR Gaming Edition 2 which i have read on the forum you need a capture card,
Will i be able to use this to get the footage from camcorder onto PC or Laptop

Thank You

I found a Canon Es8000V in the snow a couple of weeks ago, cleaned it up, and it works! I have some old HI8 tapes so it's a lucky find. Anyone know where I can find a manual for this camera? Tried the canon site and no luck. Main question is whether the miniplug output is video-mono, or video-stereo. Thanks.
