Because i have an electronics background i have been asked by a friend to take a look at his Bose Lifestyle 20 Subwoofer. It just doesn't turn on at all .
Looking at the board i can see it has a Triac & Opto-Coupler to switch the AC to the transformer & i have applied a 10v signal (as noted elsewhere on this forum)to try to switch it on but nothing. I have searched high & low for the circuit diagram or service manual for this particular model but found nothing. Anyone have any idea where i can source a diagram or have any pointers as to what to check.
Bose is maybe the LEAST forthcoming company for this kind of information. I've read rumors of people having some documentation but you won't get it from BOSE.
They simply make too much money with stuff with a known (to them) weak point which they can 'fix' for pennies while charging some outrageous flat rate!
