Hey there,
I got a samsung 5.1 sound system that usually connects to its DVD reader/Amp. However the reader is not working anymore so I got the Pioneer VSX 521 receiver, all the speakers are working fine except the subwoofer that is passive and requires a special/weird wiring to work with the new amp. The port on the receiver is a regular RC port but on the subwoofer it's a double wire + and -. What would be the best solution for me ?

.

A "passive" speaker system implies the need for an amplifier to power that speaker. You need a separate amplifier to drive the sub.
