It's pretty much been doing this since I bought it new years ago. Now it happens more frequently. Works great, then the thumper gets a low hum. Power cycling clears the issue, and it'll work a while longer, then go back into this feedback loop.
Used to do it once every 2 hours (so I didn't fix it) - now it happens every few minutes...
