I'm looking for opinions (pro/con) on this sub. Have a friend selling one in good condition for $250.00. I realize brand new this was approx. $1400.00. How does this sub rate in its class?
Also, same person selling an Escient MC-201D 200-Disc changer with an Escient Powerplay unit. Wants $500.00 for it. Anyone have much knowledge on these and would this be a good deal?

Thanks
Thanks.

Thanks Nuck. That is the same thing I have been told by a couple others.
Any info. on the Escient? Apparently, it retailed for approx. $5000.00 and was Escient's first unit of its kind about 6-8 years ago. For $500.00 I guess I can't beat that either. However, I have spoken to someone that has a Escient Fireball MX-311 he says I might be interested in. Any knowledge on either of these? I'm also in the market for a 50" Plasma. Could use some r}ecommendations on that as well. As mentioned in my profile I currently have a 46" Samsung DLP, B&W 683 Fronts, Yahmaha 683. My fronts are bi-wired to a Bryston 9B series amp. Working on getting the B&W rears also.

Yes, I did snatch it up from him. It sounds great. I even kept the Escient MC-201D and Powerplay units. The Escient has taken a bit of getting used to. But I have much less clutter with my DVD's now stored inside the unit.
Now, I have to work on the center channel and rear surrounds.
