Yup, there's xilisoft video converter for windows as well as mac users. I've personally used the windows version, and I have to say I'm impressed with their video converter. And yes, not only do they convert avi to mpeg, but also to other formats. Really easy to use, simple to navigate. I highly recommend this cheers!
