10 Awesome Black Friday Deals for 2012

By  |  0 Comments

Happy Black Friday! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of friends, family, floats, football, and too much food. But now that you have finally finagled all those leftovers into the fridge, there’s no turning back. The holiday shopping season is upon us. Well, officially, anyway.

Traditionally, today has marked the start of the holiday shopping season, but in recent years, retail stores have started opening doors earlier and earlier—a phenomenon termed “Black Friday creep.”

An early bird used to wake up at 5 a.m. on Friday to get to the sales by 6, but retailers have begun to push up their hours. Last year, several big-box stores, including Kohls, Macy’s, and Best Buy discounted the need for sleep and decided to welcome bargain hunters at midnight. This year, for the first time ever, a number of chains—Walmart, Sears, and Target among them—flung open their doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday.

But if you slept in this morning and are just sobering up from a turkey hangover, never fear. We’ve rounded up some of the best Black Friday tech deals from around the Web so that you don’t even need to get dressed to score big savings.

PCMag analyst Jamie Lendino awarded this phablet 4.5 out of 5 stars for its speedy quad-core processor, 8MP camera, stunning screen, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. “If you think all other phones are too small, and prefer something big enough to double as a miniature tablet that (barely) fits in your pocket, the Galaxy Note II reigns supreme,” Lendino wrote. With a contract, this deal will still cost you more than the Apple iPhone 5, but you’ll get a whole lot more display. For more, read our full review.
