I must admit it was the `classic' design of the Airstream 10 that sold this to me but after using it every day I've found so many other fantastic things about this radio.

It is very, very easy to use especially setting up the presets and finding radio stations via DAB or via the internet from all over the world. I've been listening to lots of podcasts, something I'd never done before, and there are thousands available here. My husband has been listening to Australian radio for their view on the Ashes series so far!

There is also an on-line internet radio portal - you can access this from the user manual where there is info and a URL to punch in, you can use the computer to search by genre/favourites etc and that will automatically update the radio. Again very easy to do.

The design is really different and very pleasing with a nice, clear display. It's a good solid thing which has a bit more quality about it than the plastic radios around.

I can stream music from my PC and I also play my iPod through the speakers as the sound is terrific. Lots of oomph for the size of the radio.

All in all, a great buy which I can thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for something stylish which does it all.

Just bought an Airstream 10 online. I was originally going to spend much less, but really liked the way Monitor have created a really nice piece of design. It's got access to more stations than I will every need. Using in the conservatory right now with clean, crisp sound coming from Radio 2 on the WEB radio. Check out some of the high bit-rate music stations.

It's really solid, cold to touch and feels like some care went into the design and construction. The metal case add a lot of weight as well making it quite stable. I really like the touch sensitie buttons! Really nice touch.

All in all, I am really pleased with the purchase. It could be available in more places, but then I guess it's still new. Not sure why it's not available to buy on the MA website. I'm sure more customers will go there first to check it out.

The Monitor Audio Airstream 10 brings my internet radio collection to three, and is my first foray away from Roberts.

Out of the box, the first impression is one of solidity - it is reassuringly heavy, and it soon becomes clear that this is a very tactile machine. Who wants to listen to it when caressing it gives such pleasure?

Setting up is simple, rendering the supplied handbook unnecessary to all except those who are novices with such equipment. Mine was set up in little more time than it takes to make a cup of coffee.

In use, the unit maintains consistency in simplicity, with all controls doing exactly as you would expect. The buttons surrounding the volume/selector control are multi-function, some of which become redundant for certain modes. The backlight is crisp, bright and modern, and entices you like a temptress.

So how does it sound? Very pleasing and highly capable - there are no compromises here, and while I hesitate to use the word awesome, the way that the sound permeates throughout my (large) house is truly astonishing, and is the reason I have put this review together.

I believe that the Airstream 10 is a design classic, and at the right price, worthy of buying just as an ornament. But it does have flaws. The connections at the side seem to have been an afterthought. I would have preferred a rotatable block in the middle, so that cabling would be kept at the rear in either orientation. As it is, the finely balanced unit lifts slightly under the weight of the power and line-out cables, quite apart from spoiling the lines on the right.

There are expanses of black at the front (vertical orientation) and top (horizontal) which should display the omega shaped Monitor Audio logo in a high gloss black finish, to add the slightest of flourishes to an otherwise outstanding design.

This is a wonderful piece of hardware. I saw it advertised in a rock magazine and it had rave reviews, so as I was after something of this sort I went straight out and bought one. I was not disappointed, it was worth every penny! The sound is superb and it is so easy to use even for someone who has no real knowledge of wireless devices. It virtually sets itself up and the users manual is clear and concise.
I am really pleased with this purchase and would hesitate to recommend it to anybody. Five stars all the way!!!
