Media Player setup

I'm using this combo for my media player and so far I think its worth the price-tag. I get good results from about 2-3 meters from the receiver. Further than this and it gets a bit unresponsive.I'm using this on an Ubunutu (mythbuntu) linux system and it works perfectly. Can program the extra function keys from XFE to load the browser, inc and dec volume etc. Mouse has an off button to conserve battery life.
Of note, and something I didn't realize was that the receiver is not a little usb dongle - its about the size (L/W) of an iphone (though much lighter and thinner).
Like I mentioned, I'm using this for my media player (which also has a remote), so my usage is minimal (browser, youtube). I'm not sure how this will fare as a gaming bundle.
