decent laptop for the money + great battery life

(4 out of 5) by P. Morris on Sep 4, 2009 (Bristol, UK)
I have bought hundreads of products online over the past 12 years and this is the first customer review i have written. Why might you ask? Because i fundamentally disagree with the last review and there are no others for this product on amazon to offer a balanced story.

My company bought this product a couple of weeks ago after i fully researched laptops between the £500-£800 mark. I am the director in an ecommerce company with an unhealthy interest in technology hence i know a little about computers.

Overall i rate this product 4/5 as whilst it is definitely underpowered if you use it for power hungry applications such as web design or web build or for gaming it is a great machine if you use it for office products, surfing the web or other relatively power hungry applications.

I have installed an early release of Windows 7 on the machine (64 bit version to utilise the full 4 gb ram) and it works great. The battery life is amazing and for the size the laptop is extremely light. It is good on the environment (due to low power consumption) and has a nice screen.

The build quality is not 10/10 however i would put build quality at the 8/10 mark.

Overall, if in doubt type in the name of the laptop in to google and you will find many reviews from much more informed people than us and they generally rate this product as 4/5. As a result, and based on my own experience, i do the same.

Dog of a product

(1 out of 5) by Ruth on Sep 4, 2009 (UK)
An absolute dog of a product. Crashed on first installation; filler key came out; continual CPU 100% spikes and resulting crashes needing shut off at the power. Unusable in short. If you are going to try it then do yourself a favour and make sure you get it from somewhere with decent customer service and send it back as soon as it starts going wrong. (e.g. go Amazon, not PC World!). The most awful laptop its been my misfortune to experience.
