Perfect picture and THX certified make this one of the best TVs on the market

(5 out of 5) by Mr. S. J. Latham on Jul 16, 2009 (Aldridge, England)
Totally amazed how good this TV is, the picture quality is brilliant on Sky HD and Blu-Ray. Standard definition is very good, as good as you can get from a 50" TV. This TV is also excellent for gaming with perfect response time.

Amazon took 5 days to delivery the TV which I thought was quite good seeing how big the box is.

Setup time is about 5 minutes and straight forward. There are 5 different viewing modes: Dynamic, Normal, Cinema, THX and Game. By far the best is THX mode as this gives you the most realistic colours straight out of the box. I use this for all Blu-Ray, DVD, HD TV and Standard Definition TV. I Use the Game mode for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii for a fast response time and slightly brighter colour reproduction which I think make the games look slightly better than THX mode.

The speakers are okay but I have not used them much because I use my surround sound instead.

The Viera Cast feature that lets you download videos from the internet from sources such as Eurosport seems a bit pointless as there is hardly any content on there and all the content that is there is poor quality. I have heard talk of BBC's iPlayer being added which would make this worth while in my opinion.

All in all this is a class TV for all viewing and gaming purposes and if you can stretch your budget I don't think you will be disappointed.

Fabulous product and service

(5 out of 5) by the Scottish Viking on Aug 9, 2009
Purchased the TX-P50V10 following a long search to replace my Sony KDL-46W2000
One thing I've learned is to be patient with the various forums and expert reviews out there - I think they're like hifi buffs who can tell you that an interconnecting wire can smell like strawberries and your audio visual experience can be described using words like "determined" and "ethereal" (!?)
Anyway, Panasonic have hit the spot with this latest set. I've changed from an LCD back to Plasma and the clarity improvement is marked. I've hardly tinkered at all with the settings (look away now if you're a calibration expert!) and have set the tv on THX setting which I understand is an almost universally accurate setting which gives you a high quality picture and colour setting for most television and film programmes.
Clearly I now have a bigger screen and half expected to see Standard Def picture flaws show up but the picture really is holding up and HD and Blu-Ray simply give a clearer picture than you would get looking out the window.
Impressive though the picture was, the set is really stylish and slim and despite the screen size, there's no sense that the room's been taken over.
Amazon use a 3rd party courier for delivery - Nightfreight in this instance. Ordered Sunday, phoned Tuesday and delivered Wednesday - not bad at all ! The guys also checked for defect or damage to the set before leaving - first class.
Downsides? Nothing to take a star off anyway. Children's paw prints show up quite clearly round the edges so keep an e-cloth handy. Also if like me you have a soundbar-type surround sound that sits in front of the set, you can't access the tv remote functions.
Is the set worth paying the extra for over the G10 units - oh yes

Fantastic picture quality and user friendly picture settings make this the best plasma screen currently availible in the high street.

Highly recommended for any hi-def input.
