Acer Aspire

My Opinions- I bought this Laptop about 7-8 months ago and have had absolutly no regrets. Although this fact alone might suggest you should buy a more reccent model. The specifications speak for themselves. Fast, plenty of space it ticks all the boxes (If you don't understand the specifications- they are above average and unless you are downloading loads of content you will be fine). I have had no problems with it so far. The fingerprint reader is actually more useful than it seems.. it allows you to access your E-mail account or Facebook profile with one swipe... no need to type in your E-mail or password. This was very easy to set-up. Only problem is that it has stopped working once I installed Internet Explorer 8, I have not tried to correct this though so i might be able to do something about it. (have not tried running it with firefox but i don't see why it wouldn't work). For the price this really is an amazing laptop... it looks amazing (this doesn't really matter to me) Has a touch-sensitive panel... again looks good but I only really use it for volume control.

Gaming- I don't really play many games on my P.C. but the NVIDIA graphics card is up to the task as is the prossesing speed. I can Play Call of Duty 4 (a pretty demanding game) with very little lagging.

Sound- Good quality... would like it to go louder.

Battery- This is the only noticable problem- in my opinion. The battery life is about 2 hours... this is less of a problem in England as a lot of trains have powerpoints. Also you can change the settings quite easily to extend this... not sure by how much though...

Extras- There is a Bicycle Lock attatchment area (if that is what you would call it) so you can physically protect your computer. There is a slot for SD cards which is sooooo useful for uploading photos (although the programme they provide for up-loading photos is really unhelpful and confusing in my opinion, this can be replaced however.) There is an HDMI input which lets you connect to the T.V. in HD. Plenty of USB input too.

I think that's all. Well worth buying.

Fantastic value for a great spec machine

This is a great product. Very well specified and massively cheaper then the equivilant big name brands. Can't say enough how pleased I am with this machine. Will run almost any game on the market perfectly and punches well above it weight (and price). Brilliant !

Great Acer Laptop 6920G

(5 out of 5) by MG Alan H on Aug 26, 2009 (UK)
Bought this Acer Laptop 6920g, fast delivery. Set up went without a hitch, it then downloaded a lot of windows updates. Made the recovery discs as reccomened, a good job because machine locked up when downloading updates for Acer Arcade Deluxe and bluetooth. Had to use recovery discs but all went well. All software updates now download with out problem. Graphics very good. Using machine for video editing no problems.

Pros & Cons

This is cool looking machine! I'm enjoying watching movies on it, which is probably the most impressive thing about it. I'm a bit annoyed at the media control panel though, which tends to work sometimes and sometimes not. The keys are noisy when typing. I'm placing lots of hope in Windows 7, as I expect that some of my other little frustrations with this machine are Vista related.

Smart but broke early.

The laptop was for me to take to University. I wanted a high spec to be 'future proof' whilst at Uni.

Initially, I was very pleased with both the look and functionality of the computer, but about 3 weeks after I got it, the screen developed a fault that saw a large part of it unreadable. Amazon have quickly sent a replacement but I am concerned as to its medium term surviveability, particularly in a student enviroment.
