OK, but not as good as it should be.
The build quality and the spec of this laptop are excellent, and generally it runs very well. However, there are several aspects of the machine that mean it's not as good as other laptops out there at a similar price.
Firstly, the wireless is woeful - very short range (compared to me 3 year old Toshiba laptop, which seems to connect at twice the distance) and constantly cutting out, even with a "Very Good" signal.
Secondly, the unit gets REALLY hot. Like, too hot to put on your lap. Not good for a "laptop" computer. I've never had a laptop run as hot as this one does.
Battery life is also poor. It's good, IF you turn the power settings right up, but then you might as well be running a cheaper, slower laptop and save your money.
Finally, ACER seem to have filled the laptop with the most pointless and bloated software they could find, and a lot of it is a right pain in the bum to remove.
All in all, it's a nice piece of kit, if you're going to keep it plugged into a wired network and the mains, and work in a fridge.

Great laptop
I bought this laptop for my daughter's 18th birthday and she is thrilled with it. She is particularly pleased with the quality and clarity of the screen. The only negative comment she made was that the base of the laptop does get very warm but this is our first laptop so not sure if this is common with all laptops.
