Snazzy laptop
This is my first laptop and im quite pleased with it, very large memory 4gb and HDD 320gb, however i had a problem with the screen which was dimming on the right so sent it back to acer who sorted it for me in under a week, which was great. One thing that buggs me is the lack of a blu ray drive, even though i wasnt expecting one, the sticker on the machine states quite clearly it has a blu ray drive. So i got all excited and then bummed out because its just a dvd drive.
The keypad is nice and responsive plenty of connectivity 4 usb vga and hdmi out, and it can handle some quite recent games too. Films look and sound great on it, and its pretty fast with a equivelant 4.2 ghz total processing speed.
All in all a great performing laptop at an affordable price.

Could Have Been Better . .
I bought one of these laptops a couple of weeks ago, simply to upgrade from my previous Acer Aspire laptop (which caused me no major problems). Once I got used to the smaller screen and lack of up/down scroll button the next major problem was the CD drive. As I was ripping music tracks from CD albums onto the laptop it started having difficulty (Stopping midway through tracks). This increased until it couldn't even copy an entire single track, and the final track I managed to fully rip played with badly affected sound quality. This is a bit of a nightmare for me as I needed to make a fair number of CDs up for a gig, don't know if this is going to be a common problem or if I've just been unlucky but nevertheless thats it!

Completely Failed After 3 Weeks
I bought this laptop to upgrade my aged Dell. The Dual Core processor and 4GB RAM attracted me along with the VGA output for TV and cardreader. You seemed to get a lot for your money. All went well for a couple of weeks. It was fast and although somewhat slower than I would have expected on multi tasks, handled them quite well. Acer load too much of their own junk. One evening after turning on in the 3rd week, it said that 'Windows Updates Being Installed'. After that, it just would not work. It took about 10 minutes to react to a mouse click, the same to read a cd rom. I tried the recovery disc (you have to make your own - Acer provide no discs at all), but this would not be read. In the end I managed to start it in Safe Mode and reinstalled the factory settings, losing everything I had spent time on transferring from my old machine. Beware that this seems cheap, because it probably uses cheaper hardware. With this experience I would not recommend this laptop.

good all round laptop
Good all round laptop, decent sized screen but still compact enough to carry about. Plenty of memory, decent sized hard drive and good processor for a very good price (I've priced up same spec elsewhere and came in £100 dearer). No complaints so far!

Just fantastic!
I originally bought this for myself, but very rapidly lost it to my daughter! It's brilliant! Very quick, fantastic amount of space, couldn't've wished for more. I spent a long time ploughing through laptop specifications and this one really has ticked all our boxes. Have read other peoples comments regarding battery life but we always use it in the home so is not an issue we've come accross. Would recommend.
