Spot on piece of kit ..

(5 out of 5) by A. J. Sudworth on Jun 26, 2009 (UK)
This is an absolutely spot on piece of kit.
One of the bug bears with my iPOD touch is that it has to be charged from a PC/laptop - a 3 pin socket is not supported.
But that is not always possible especially when I'm away for a few days on business and the iPOD gets some hammer with music and applications like 'Conquest'
But this is a life saver - you just plug it in and let it charge up - three solid LED lights tell you when its done
And then I put it in the front of my rucksack for the next time the iPOD ran out of battery
Well, it worked a treat , charged up in the usual time and did not discharge the Backup Battery unit so I think I'm good for at least another top up from the original charge up
Simplicity itself to charge from the mains or direct from a PC USB port (when I have that available) and you can get twice as fast a charge with two USB connections
So I think its great for piece of mind

..and the bonus was I was on the Tube when the lights went out briefly and the torch on the unit was very handy ..

A Smart Little Fella!

(5 out of 5) by Sassy Brit on Jun 25, 2009 (UK)
No bigger than the average mobile phone, the Dexim BluePack S3 is an ingenious little device, which can be charged up via a dual USB charge cable connected to a power adapter that goes into a wall socket. You can even charge it up by inserting both the USB cables into your computer. It works on my Mac, too, as you would expect since it is compatible with iphones and ipods. There is a battery capacity LED indicator, which flashes blue when charging, and stops flashing, but stays lit up when fully charged. The pack also uses Smart technology to prevent it from over charging. In addition, it has a switch button to check the available battery power level.

Once charged it can be connected to your iphone, ipod (Nano, Classic, touch, 5th generation), BlackBerry and even T-Mbile G1/HTC phones to gain up to 10 hours extra talk time, 12 hours video playing time or 72 hours music playing time. What's more is that you can charge the BluePack at the same time as your iPhone/ipod/BlackBerry etc using the cables of which are all provided.

There is even a handy little built in torch, and a travel bag for it all. I tested this out on my ipod via the wall socket and my Mac, and I was surprised at the easiness of it all. I fully recommend it as a useful product, which comes complete with all the right cables and therefore ready to use as soon as you receive it. Think of how useful this is when you are out and about with no power supply, but a fully charged BluePack. If you love gadgets you'll love this Smart little fella. What the torch is for, I am unsure, but I love it anyway!

Charge on the go. Simple and effective.

Anyone who has ever owned an iPhone will have experienced that gut-wrenching approach to the first red bar on the battery indicator.

And here to the rescue comes the small and perfectly formed S3 battery pack from Dexim. Simple concept - it's basically a spare battery which gives you a a full charge when you're nowhere near a socket. Plug it in the mains with the supplied adapter and charge it up. The lights on the side show when it's charged - and how much charge remains when you're using it - but you can't damage it by over-charging. There is also a little torch, a nice extra feature. Carry it round in the little bag it comes with, and when your iPhone/iPod etc starts to fade before your eyes, whop in the correct lead connecting the two and bingo - you've got a charge on the go.

I've done one and a half full iPhone charge cycles (and, naturally, played around with the torch a few times) and there are still 2 of 3 charge lights lit when I check how much juice is left, suggesting that this little package (a bit thicker than an iPhone but not as tall, solid black metal) fits a very decent amount of power into its diminutive frame.

I was delighted to get the chance to give this a test run and now I've discovered the simple efficiency of this product I'll be keeping it close when I'm out and about or travelling. Great little device and well worth the investment if you want to avoid your iPhone conking out on you at the wrong moment.

Great for iPhones

(5 out of 5) by Timo King on Jun 21, 2009 (Bristol, United Kingdom)
Great little device, especially if you use your iPhone quite a lot like me. Is very small and convenient to carry around and provides a fair amount of extra charge. Connects to my iPhone 3GS, latest gen iPod and also has connectors for other devices.

Has 3 blue lights on the side to signify when it's fully charged and charging. Also contains a small torch-like light, which I'm not exactly sure what it's for. It also comes with a little carry-bag.

Overall this does what it says on the tin. It's very handy to have around with you to get some extra charge if you're planning to use your devices a lot. I usually take this out with me if I'm staying somewhere overnight, as many of you will know - the iPhone's charge only really lasts a day. If that's a problem you encounter a lot, then it's worth checking this out.

Everything you need for a charger

(5 out of 5) by Spatch on Jun 20, 2009 (England, Oxfordshire)
All of this power in something five inches big is amazing, it has an iPod/iPhone (not shuffle) mini cable, micro USB cable, micro 5 pin USB and a 3.5 DC dual USB charge cable (for charging the Bluepack)so anything that fits one of these like most Blackberries, some cameras can be charged with it.

It is easy to set up with an AC adaptor which connects to a double USB cable which you plug into the Bluepack. Three lights come on flashing showing it is charging, then stay on when fully charged. There's even a small but powerful LED white torch light, which is operated by holding down a small switch in the side of the Bluapack - this switch also shows you how much life is left in the battery. If you can't spare a plug you could just plug the double USB cable into your PC. Also comes with a nice small travel bag. You can also charge your iPod etc while charging the Bluepack itself, it comes with a 1 year warranty incase anything goes wrong, though I can't see this happening in such a solid design.

I would reccomend this to anyone who travels a lot and has little means to charge your iPod, but only really get this if you know you'll get lots of use from it as of the price tag. But it's worth it.
