Really pleased with PVR9300T
I read the reviews for the 9200 and other machines and was a bit concerned about noise - the fan does stay on but when tv sound is on it does not notice. HDMI connnection works great and bonus is that the 9300 will power a masthead amp so I've got rid of a separate power supply. Picture is really good on 720p into Bravia. Recording is easy. Manual could be a bit clearer but couldn't they all. Overall its a great buy.

problems and terrible service
We were initally very pleased with the item (as compared to a very old video recorder) but soon had the same problems as a number of other reviewers - slow to download programme guide, extremely noisy fan, and cutting off end of some programmes, but what's killed it for us is the poor customer service. Ours developed a fault to do with a patch to resolve the fan issue and it then died completely - trying to reboot itself every 30 seconds. To get a replacement has cost us a fortune in phone calls and much agro. We have been extremely disappointed with the level of service from Humax.
One other thing I would say is that don't rely on it to save anything for posterity. When ours died we lost loads of things we either hadn't watched yet or wanted to keep.

Don't worry about the noise!
I nearly didn't buy this because of all the comments about the noise. I don't understand why so many people are bothered by the very quiet hum. There is no need to have the machine on when you are not watching TV (you can record from standby mode), and when the TV's on you can't hear it. Very easy to use and fantastic features. If you have a non-digital TV then you don't need a set-top box if you have one of these. Only negative is that the electronic programme guide does take a few minutes to load if you've had the machine off. All this means is that if you are wanting to set it to record a programme it's easier if you've had the PVR on for a few minutes first. Not a major problem once you're aware of it. Highly recommended!

Very pleased...
I read every review and did a lot of research on similar products before deciding to buy this Humax 9300T 320GB. A lot has already been said (mostly about a noisy fan) so i will keep this brief.
I brought this 2 weeks ago. It was easy to install and self loaded in a short space of time. There was no printed manual as the full instructions were on a CD-R (I have printed off all 60+ pages as its easier to understand 'what does what' while playing with and trying to get to know how the machine works)however there was a 'quick set up guide' along with a scart lead and HDMI cable in the box. I must have the newer model as there is no fan noise. The electronic programme guide does take a few minutes to load up when first switched on but as somebody mentioned in an earlier review put the TV on BBC1 and it will load that bit quicker but i do not concider this a major point. The one touch recording or programming is brilliant and i do not miss having to input a date, two times and a channel on my old DVD disc recorder. This is the first time i have had a Freeview + product (Never had SKY/TIVO etc) and the play back/pause/record of live TV is brilliant as is the ease of use. I'm still working through all the features but the basics are simplicity themselves. I have a 7 year old bulky 21" screen colour TV and have noticed an improvement in the picture quality as well.
