Wow!

Gorgeous piece of equipment. Upgraded from a 44" LG DLP with standard resolution, and there isn't any comparison. Watched Prince Caspian on Blu-Ray last night: wonderful colour balance, deep blacks, and excellent night scenes. 24p Gives a convincing cinematic presentation too, and everything is much more real. Given the size and clarity of the set, it's a bit of a shock coming back to a Freeview signal or even DVD. Apart from the Pioneer Kuro range (which are pretty much in a class of their own), I haven't seen anything to better this.

Excellent

(5 out of 5) by Greg F on Aug 23, 2009 (West Midlands)
TV was delivered in about 6 days, and was more muddy boots than white gloves. Just about acceptable. Anyway this is a review of the TV not the delivery so....

The TV itself is fantastic, it replaced a 37"CRT so the step up was massive. Not run BD's into it but HD from Apple TV looks fantastic.

We had a sky dish outside that was installed about 6 years ago, sky was cancelled about a year after we had it. I connected the tv to the old dish, BINGO!, all the freesat channels tuned in first time using my old sky dish. Bonus.

BBC HD looks great and is free :-)

All in all I'm very pleased with this TV, picture quality is A1 with jet black blacks etc. I'm using it on the normal preset for movies and TV shows and on the game setting for XBOX 360, which also looks fab with no lag. Mine's mounted on a cantilevered wall bracket so in a darkened room it looks like the picture is just floating.

UPDATE: 16 Dec 2009

Just wanted to add that I've now got rid of the Apple TV and swapped to a Mac Mini connected to this. I've installed Plex media centre on the Mac which I use to play all my video. HD video looks stunning on this TV, even the standard definition stuff looks good. We use it to view our photos etc. Honestly this TV is a gem and is performing flawlessly.

Our old Sky dish is still giving us a great freesat signal even though its mounted on the back of the house & doesn't have direct line of sight to the sky sat. No loss of signal even in heavy rain. We only use it on freesat now as the picture is better than freeview.

I've left it on the normal preset, it looks perfect to me. With the Mac audio going into a digital amp its a winning combo.

Still highly recommended indeed

Hope this helps someone decide.

Bought as a replecement for an older Panasonic Plasma. I have upgraded to Sky HD and this TV is awesome with it. The delivery process was very good and they communicated with me throughout. Panasonic have impressed me yet again.

Fantastic TV, you will NOT regret investing

(5 out of 5) by Mr. A. Hewett on Nov 30, 2009 (Gatwick)
I have replaced my 3 year old Phillips 42'' (1080i) Plasma as I wanted a full 1080p TV. I was originally looking at a 50" Samsung as I already have a Samsung Cinema system (HTZ-315R) and wanted to have use of the Anynet+ functionality. After spending some time in Comet, Curry's, etc I decided that this was the model to go for (TX-P50G10B). The picture quality, in my opinion, of the Panasonic is significantly better than that offerd by any other mainstream manufacturer. Several professional reviews say that the Pioneer 50" is the best Flat screen available (picture quality wise), but it costs around £3000. This TV is often said to be as good and is a third of the price. The Panasinic G10 range has gained a lot of good reviews and won several rewards. As a further bonus because I ordered the TV before Christmas I was able to get a 5 year Panasonic warranty too (offer is only available through authorised dealers such as Audio Vision direct in London- they also have a shop on Amazon).
The picture from a full 1080p source such as PS3 game or Blu Ray is absolutely pin sharp and looks fantastic. Star Trek on Blu Ray was phenominal, the depth of blacks is simply amazing.
A 1080i source (Sky HD) or upscaled DVD (1080p from my Samsung Cinema system) is fantastic too. The inbuilt freeview & freesat offer a great picture- so much so that I can not tell which source is providing a free channel (such as BBC or ITV) as Sky, Freesat or freeview provide identical quality.
The TV is very light at only 35 kg so you can move it by yourself if you need to. It is well packaged and the stand that is included has a rotating base, quite helpful if you move around the room and want to re-angle the TV quickly. The menus are fairly easy to use and the manual is easy to read. The PC input is helpful and the picture is good and sharp.
Several people have been critical of the standard speakers, however I think that they are perfectly ample for the job. As with any TV the sound offered by a full 5.1 (or indeed a good 2.1) system is always going to be superior.
As a further bonus the Panasonic Viera Link control that allows you to operate compatible Panasonic equipment such as a DVD player IS COMPATIBLE with Samsung's Anynet+. This allows control of the Samsung (Anynet+) DVD player through the Panasonic (Viera Link) TV remote. This is a massive bonus as I only require 1 remote control to watch a DVD instead of 2. I can also turn the cinema system on from the TV remote and select whether I want the to use the TV speakers or the cinema system's on any input source.
The only negatives that I can think to mention are fairly trivial.
All of the connections are located on the lower left corner of the TV, however they all plug in a 90 degrees to the TV. A wall bracket that will give at least 40mm clearance from the wall to the TV will be required to allow the connection. This is a shame as on other TV's (my Phillips included) all of the connectors are accessed from underneath meaning that it can be mounted flush aginst the wall. A 4th HDMI on the rear of the TV would be great as the 3rd is on the side of the TV (the V10 range has this, but costs around £300 more).
I haven't tried the SD card reader yet, but I am confident that I will not be disapointed.
If you're considering buying this TV I can assure you that you will not regret doing so!

Gorgeous, stunning, fabulous, easy set up. Delivery speed fantastic....

Absolutely fabulous - Amazon and Warehouse 24 have made this buying experience perfect for me as I have little patience when I get excited about things arriving. Ordered the TV, brackets, Blu ray player, disks et cetera on Saturday night - everything had arrived by Tuesday and the TV arrived on Wednesday (after a call on Tuesday from Night Freight when they said they would be delivering). They also confirmed in an email and then phoned us ten minutes before to say they were on their way. What can I say about this TV? IT IS EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE WISHED FOR!!!! After hanging the bracket and putting all the plugs in place it took just 6 minutes....yes 6 minutes to set up automatically. Plugged FREESAT into a redundant SKY aerial and WOW!!! HD immediately on one of the channels, you can really see the difference. Blu Ray was even a step up from that, played the Bourne Identity so there were lots of fast moving scenes to study... I even stood 6" away from the screen to try to fault it (with reading glasses on)! This set is amazing. Sound is good, but linked up with my hi fi there is a lovely balanced ambience (the sound is so much better than on my old set, well, it was old and neither LCD or plasma), but I still have good hearing. As for complaints about delivery I could not have had a better service. The bracket I chose was easy to fit, arrived as I said early, and well..I cannot say anymore - you can get it cheaper elsewhere, but I trust Amazon. Hope this helps. Oh, and there are loads of places to connect to, can even keep my virgin cable TV as well. Now off to view and enjoy...........Panasonic TX-P50G10B 50-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p Plasma TV with Freesat - Installation Recommended Not if you have still got your old digital satellite dish!! Bonus. Oh bye for now, but not before saying thank you to all the reviewers who virtually made it impossible for me not to want this set. You were all right!!!!
