Big Sound from Small Speakers
It's amazing the sound that you get from such small speakers. When I first opened the box and saw how small the speakers were, I was somewhat concerned at their small size, but once unpacked and set up...
My son's enormous and amazing sounding cinema sound system made me realise what I was missing just hearing the sounds from the television and so I thought I would like one of those, but my wife said she couldn't stand the thought of all those (huge) speakers cluttering up our lounge. So I had to make do with something so small it could sit quietly somewhere and not be too intrusive. To be honest, at first I thought I had made a mistake in buying this system and almost sent it back - I am so glad I didn't. The biggest frustration was hiding all the wires, it meant lifting the edges of the carpet, no mean feat in itself, and then hide the wires and put everything back. Anyway I plodded away until all the speakers were in the right place and I switched it on and set it all up, using the microphone that comes with it. At first I thought this is not what I expected as it was nothing like my son's set up. So I read the book that came with it, always a good idea (why do men generally not read these books?) and realised that it wasn't set up how I would like it. So with a button press here and a tweak there suddenly the system came to life - WOW.
So where do I start? Shall I tell you about the amazing upscaling of DVD playback? or should I start by telling you that the sound it produces is amazing, versatile too, or maybe how it makes watching television a much more pleasurable experience, or even how, at last, I am able to hear what the actors are saying when I play a DVD and not just hear all the loud music? No I think I should just say that this is an amazing system that not only makes the televisiom sound so much better, but makes watching DVDs (courtesy of the upscaling) a whole new experience.
In my opinion, this is one of the best systems I have heard and for the price I don't think it can be beaten. Well done Panasonic.
Incidentally we have a new Panasonic TV too and the marriage between the cinema system and the TV is perfect.
