Upgrade

(5 out of 5) by Solo Select on Oct 3, 2009 (Wales)
I.ve had a Panasonic DVD Hard Drive Recorder for the last 6 years and could not live without it, my old model finally gave up and I was foced to look for a replacement. Bought this on the recomendation from Which and cannot fault the ease of use. My old model was great but the new machine is faster and easier to use.

Ideal stable mate to Viera TV

(4 out of 5) by Brian England on Oct 9, 2009 (Guernsey C.I.)
I purchase this DVD recorder because of its ability to use Viera Link with my Panasonic Viera TV, it does everything I expected of it and allows me to do all recording and playback direct from the TV. My only concern is the time taken for Viera link to start up the recorder but once you get used to the delay it's not really a problem

Replacement.

(4 out of 5) by KIRTH BOALCH on Sep 13, 2009 (LEAMINGTON SPA)
I purchased this recorder to replace a similar Panasonic model which I had owned for about two and a half years. Unfortunately, the DVD writer broke down on the old model, and the price quoted to repair it was nearly the price of the DMR-EX769EB-K, so no contest.

The old model had a few more features than the new model, it had an SD card reader which enabled me to download photo's, create albums, and then drop them onto a DVD RAM. The new model supports RAM, but not for photographs. I now have to drop my pictures onto a computer and burn onto DVD-R after editing etc.

In addition, although it has an input for an analogue video camera, it lacks the input for a digital camera, which the old model had. Again, I would have to go via computer

But to be fair, this model is a little over half the price of the original model, and performs equally as well. All in all, good value for money. One little gripe, the instuction manuals. Although they give an explanation of what the settings in the setup section do, they are too technical for the average person in my opinion. Also, they don't consider loyal Panasonic customers. I have a Panasonic TV with Viera Link. It would be nice if they gave optimum settings when connecting to their own equipment.

In general I'm happy with my purchase, but have given 4 stars because of the slightly limited features.

Panasonic DMR-EX769EB-K DVD Recorder

(5 out of 5) by Sussex Jude on Aug 28, 2009 (West Sussex)
The DVD is great, pity about the manual. Why do they have to make these so complicated? As with so many user manuals, they seem to leave the essentials to the back and start with the advanced stuff. It was relatively easy to set up, although I did have to have a couple of goes at it as on the first attempt it did not complete the auto set up. Having ironed out the initial problems I am now very happy.

A mixed bag

(2 out of 5) by Robert W. Fletcher on Aug 7, 2009 (UK)
I quote the manufactures description as seen on Amazon, `Besides the USB Terminal connection DIGA models' - I expected a USB port but there is none. The VIERA link does not support my nearly new Hitatchi TV. Cannot record one side and watch another on TV as did my ex much cheaper model Daewoo. Three bad points and then consider the unwanted advertising, a disgusting move by Panasonic.
Good build and performs very well in all the other features.
