Sony Bravia KL37s5500U 37" (recommended)
(5 out of 5) by abertawejack on Oct 12, 2009 (UK)I bought this TV, from Amason, after initially purchasing a Toshiba,which also was very good, though after (7) seven months, the on off switch broke, yet! fair play to Amason, as there was no replacement available they kindly, gave my money back. I am more than impressed with this Sony TV, the picture quality speaks for itself, with an easier set up, switch it on, then let it get on with finding, the necessary channels, that's it, away you go. thoroughly recommended.

Sony TV great, Amazon service not great

It's excellent.
I bought it from Amazon because it was advertised with a free stand. I bought it for this reason.
The order page was complex, with the stand having to be ordered separately. I did fill it in correctly.
The TV was later delivered with no stand. When I complained to Amazon, I was told 'either you didn't fill out the form correctly, or we ran out of free stands'.
I did fill out the form to the best of my ability, and if I did it wrongly then the form is just ludicrously difficult. If Amazon run out of stands then they shouldn't imply that there were unlimited numbers, and then not deliver because they were out of stock.
TV - great. Amazon - not great.

I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH MY 'SONY BRAVIA',DELIVERY WAS ON SCHEDULE AND I DID NOT HAVE ANY DIFFICULTY SETTING UP,THE AUTO TUNE IS SO SIMPLE EVEN A LAYMAN SUCH AS MYSELF IS IMPRESSED.THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT
MANUAL,CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS,ONCE I HAD FOUND A METHOD OF X REFERENCING THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL IT BECOMES SIMPLE.
I HAVE YET TO FIND 'FREEVIEW'(NOT MENTIONED IN THE MANUAL)IN SPITE OF THE ITEM BEING STATED AS (WITH FREEVIEW)!!

To buy or not to buy
(4 out of 5) by Ally on Nov 14, 2009 (North Yorkshire)Like everyone else I read the reviews (which were mixed) before buying. I am generally very pleased with the product. The screen does have some reflection so you need to be certain where you site the tv, i.e especially near a window. The size of the screen was okay for the room, approx 12fr x 16ft, if the room was smaller the tv would be too big and a 40" would be far too big for a room of this size. The picture quality is good, but this always depends upon the programe and of course the arial. Despite not having a proper arial I have still happy with the quality. My only gripe is the time it takes for the picture to arrive on the screen when you first turn the tv on and change channel, but this is only because we live in an instant world! Relations have a samsung and it would be bib and tuck to say which one is better.
