Excellent camera

The Lumix camera has a large view finder, and excellent number of modes.
The optical and digital zooms are excellent too.
Highly recommended just need to find a printer to do it justice now.

Panasonic Lumix TZ7

I am not a photgraphic genious but after reading reviews of this camera, and caomparing with my Casio Exlim, I decided iy was for me. The abililties of the camera are extremely good, as for the movie outstanding. I forgot my video camera when at the Bridgewater Carnival and used the TZ7, the results are outstanding. Only critisim is the selection dial, as reported, moves position to easily when handling camera.

Excellent Camera

I bought the Panasonic TZ7 after much deliberation and studying specifications and reviews in Magazines and on the internet. I was looking for a better camera to replace an Olympus mju 800 digital camera which had been a good camera but was now lagging behind compared to modern cameras. I particularly wanted a greater optical zoom, a wider angle lens and also the facility to take photos with a different aspect ratio i.e. 3:2 and 16:9. The final requirement was to have a compact format. The TZ7 seemed to tick all the boxes.
I have now been using the camera for a month and have been delighted with the ease of use and the results. I generally leave it on the Intelligent Auto setting and for the vast majority of cases it works out the best settings and produces excellent results. I haven't used the video much as my main requirement is for still photos but the few clips I have taken have been fairly good quality providing one doesn't try to zoom during recording as it takes a while to refocus.
The only slight negative comment is that the zoom control seems a little on the coarse side so a bit of juggling is required to get the desired framing.
In spite of these two small points I feel the camera still qualifies for a 5 star rating and would certainly recommend it.

Wow!

I'm no camera buff but I wanted to upgrade my old sony cybershot(I've had for years) to a camera with longer zoom so that, when I'm taking 'proud parent' school photos of the Christmas Nativity, school concerts etc.. I can actually see my son in the pictures!
Recently went on holiday abroad with the camera, less than a week after receiving it.Despite my limited knowledge and quick scanning of the booklet, I got some fab photos and a bit of video too.
The zoom is great, the pictures clear and, it can be as easy to use as you want it to (you can use the auto functions rather than manual settings.) My favourite new toy!!!

Every girl should have one...

After extensive research I purchased this camera from Amazon a week prior to going on a ten day trip around Egypt. I also purchased a spare battery and 8g memory card. Luckily for me everything arrived in good time. It took a day to get used to not having a view finder but after that I just picked up the concise manual and ran with it. The camera is easy to use and the resulting pictures are amazing. Using the video was fun and the results impressive. I did need to carry the spare battery but to be fair I was snapping away excessively, viewing and editing the pictures throughout each day away from a power slot. In summary, all was going exceptionally well until I found the Transform Scene Mode. Now I just cannot put the camera away! Girls - this is the Golden Ticket to loosing a dress size. I have never looked so good in photographs. Thank you Panasonic!
