A powerful camera in a neat little package
(5 out of 5) by ollie on Dec 2, 2009 (Berks UK)I bought this camera about 2 weeks before a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in November 2009. As this was the trip of a lifetime I knew I needed a camera with a more powerful zoom.
The TZ7 (like the FX-30 I purchased 2 years ago) is easy to use and having just reviewed some of the 800+ photos I took I am very pleased with the results; from the sharpness of 80ASA to the very low light in a natural tunnel at 1600ASA hand held without flash); the macro zoom gave me some great close-ups as well as the impressive zoom just when I needed it.
The camera size was perfect it fits into a T shirt breast pocket with a camera neck strap attached, so was quickly ready for use in a few seconds and without the bulk of an SLR.
The 25mm wide angle as well as the 12x zoom in one neat little camera was used to great effect and although I had a spare battery ready at all times the battery life was good as I also took a number of small videos using its ability to zoom whilst recording. An all round great little compact camera.

EXCELLENT

Excellent all rounder

The camera and lens are excellent with functions to suite both quick snappers and the more advanced users.
For the money an excellent investment, even if you do have to fork out for some additional accessories.
