A blurred result
After all the excellent reviews I was really looking forward to using this camera. The promise was that I'd never have another blurred photo.
Well, as it happens, either you or the camera (if you haven't done a lot of complicated stuff first) must decide on the 'focus' of the picture. The resulting photo shows the 'focus' in perfect sharpness and all the rest of the photo is blurred. Well, I was actually looking for a camera where the whole photo would be in clear focus, not just a tiny bit of it. I am really, really disappointed! My previous camera was a Fujifilm F440 and it took perfect pictures effortlessly (but it didn't correct camera shake which was why I chose the Sony). But now, it seems, ALL my photos are blurred.
Not sure why all the others find the out of focus bit so good. Hmm!

Sony Camera
I've had loads of digital cameras and this one is the best so far. Very good for close-up pictures of ceramics.
beware non genuine sony memory sticks
Purchased camera for parents for xmas (first impressions they are pleased). Camera was purchased as bundle with memory stick which came from another marketplace reseller.
Seems the market place is flooded with fake cards (ebay also) Using camera with memory stick results in message "This Memory Stick may not record or play". It's all over the internet and is a tell tail sign the card is non sony genuine. Mine did not even come in proper packaging.
I contacted the seller and they sent me a genuine replacement in genuine packaging and a prepaid envelope for old card to be sent back. ( no longer get the message).
I suspect a lot of people have been hit by this and don't even realise. Fortunately the newer cameras seem to be able to detect non genuine cards.
Fake cards often corrupt pictures, have slower transfer speeds and have smaller memory size than advertised. Beware!
