I've owned the 500gb Vosonic image viewer/storage device since May 2009. Before that I used an Epson P4000 (80gb) for portable storage. I can say that whilst I was a bit nervous about buying the Vosonic as it doesn't look as beautiful as the Epson, it certainly performs much better at what you need it for. I'm a professional wedding photographer and will often fill one 16gb card before I'm halfway through a wedding. With the Vosonic, I switch on, insert card, choose to do a full backup and 20 minutes later, all the RAW files are on the device - and viewable. It's great for piece of mind, and also if you need to format a card, you know the images are safe. Also, with 500 gb of space you can keep a lot of weddings on there at once so mine is doubling as a third external drive.

One great design bonus is that Vosonic build it so you can change HDDs in the future without it being a complex process - nice.

Downsides? Well the screen isn't quite as vibrant as the Epson but this is more than compensated by the fact it reads RAW files from new DSLRs like my 5d MKII and displays them quickly.

I can't imagine I'll need the space anytime soon, but I'd happily buy another and recommend it to everyone.
