Sony 46"
It is a great product and very simple to use. The picture quality is amazing especially in HD.

Recommended TV
Really nice TV looks good, has all the connections required and more. Nice picture, also syncs really well with Sony AV home cinema system.

An excellent flat screen TV
The Sony Bravia KDL46V5500U is simply excellent and easy to configure.
I also purchased the Blue Ray player Sony BDPS550 Profile 2.0 Blu-ray Player to fully take advantage of the TV high definition.
Before I purchased these 2 items, I feared that regular DVD would look poor compared to blue-ray disks, but as a matter of fact, whichever of the Blue Ray player or the TV upscales the DVD low res images does an excellent job. DVD looks great too (and blue ray just a bit better). I though that once I had a blue ray player, I would not by DVDs anymore. Well, I bought 10 last weekend.

Almost excellent
There isn't much this TV doesn't do well. Being a photographer and graphic designer, colour was important to me, and I have to say, the rendition from this TV is very nice and balanced, even without any adjustments. The theatre mode desaturates things nicely for prolonged viewing in darker settings. The digital tuner works very well, but the Electronic Programme Guide is a bit slow and the configuration options don't really make it any easier to use plus the annoying adverts in the left column are something I really don't like - but it's not a show stopper. I can put up with it.
The one area this TV really falls down, and SONY have been BAD in not explaining this more clearly is that streaming video via a DLNA server to this TV is a non-starter. If there is a way to get it working, I haven't found it. I have installed several DLNA servers on Windows and Mac, and the TV isn't having any of it. Apparently this is the same as a lot of other Sony TVs. Their DLNA support appears to be VERY lacking.
Other than this, I still like the TV, and will probably just plug a media player to the side of it. But be warned if you want a fully enabled DLNA TV, do some serious research before buying this one.
Would I buy it again? For the money - yes.
