Brilliant small machine!
(5 out of 5) by stevieb on Jun 19, 2009 (Reading, UK)This little netbook is the answer to my every need-good to carry for those with arthritic shoulders and very efficient in word processing, spreadsheets on Excel, emails and web searches. It was easy to start and set up, at 55 I am personally not computer savvy; I simply took it out of the box, followed the simple instructions and away Gladys (I name everything) and I went! I would highly recommend this product.

Netbook is great, though not what I expected

In all reviews, the new battery life (6 cell battery) and the bluetooth connectivity were mentioned and lauded. In fact, the additional battery life mentioned is one of the primary reasons I bought the Aspire over any other netbook.
However, the Aspire sold here has the OLD battery (3 cell battery). While this is mentioned in the technical specs, I never reviewed these as I felt after the reviews I'd read that I knew the specs. Also, the bluetooth connectivity does not come as standard, though I'm not so bothered by that.
All in all, I'm happy with the Aspire One, in fact it's easy to buy a larger battery (at extra expense). However, just not happy with the fact that Amazon are selling one that is not on a par with the 'standard' one as mentioned in all the Aspire 1 D reviews on the web.

Brilliant netbook

Great Little Computer!

Bought as a temporary replacement for a large laptop that's on it's last legs I can see myself continuing to use it as my primary surf'n'work computer when I finally get my uber gaming machine replacement.
Plays downloaded videos fine, BBC Iplayer and low spec games. Sound a little on the low and tinny size; however not what it's designed to do. Light in weight if not performance, it works really well with a wireless optical mouse such as Logitech Wireless Mouse M305 Dark Silver - 910-000937.Keyboard can be a bit small if your used to touch typing; it's a Netbook!!!
I have recommended to anyone I know who needs a travel computer. Might need a USB CD Drive if you tend to load programs; most programs are available as downloads these days.Did I mention that I liked it?
